NYSRA-NYSACRA Managed Care Council

In collaboration with our colleagues at the New York State Association of Community and Residential Agencies (NYSACRA) the Managed care Council serves multiple roles.

  1. The Council services as a means by which members of the two associations can share information and experiences related to the transformation of health and support services toward managed care models currently being implemented in NYS.
  2. Discussion and deliberations also serve as a platform by which the two associations work to recommend policy and advocacy positions to be taken on behalf of members related to the systems’ transition to Managed Care.
  3. Topical discussions serve to identify areas in which members want/need technical assistance that the two associations can then provide.  Key areas of interest and concentrations include:
  4. various aspects of provider preparation and experience delivering Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services waiver-funded supports within the Health and Recovery Plans (HARPs) to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders;
  5. the continued evolution of Developmental Disabilities Individual Support and Care Coordination Organization (DISCO) for future delivery of developmental disability services;
  6.  the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program; the future of care coordination activities within these new structures; and others.
